New 4H Events for 2013

Our new classes for 2013 are Trail and the Quadrangle.

Trail is a pretty complex event. The class is meant to show that a horse is maneuverable through many obstacles and trusts the rider. The rider has control of every footstep the horse takes.

Take the opportunity to desensitize your horse. On trail rides you come in contact with bridges, down logs, trees, flowers, bushes, and others.

For some great tips on setting up a practice course at home see the links below.  Tim Kimura designs all of the trail courses for the AQHA championship shows. Our 4H shows won't have near as many obstacles, as an AQHA show, but by watching the best and learning from them we can all get even better at this new event.

Below are video clips from championship runs at the AQHA show. Also, check out the awesome course they get to go through. Just like a true trail ride, they are riding though flowers, over bridges, bushes, and other "spooky" things.
